Foundations of Bladesmithing      May 12-13, 2018

Gain the skills and knowledge to forge a superior hand knife. Learn heat treating, metallurgy, forging and finishing as you complete your own heirloom blade.

Two days (20hrs). No experience required.

All Types of Tongs      May 26-27, 2018

Tongs are the most-needed yet most-neglected blacksmith tool. Factory-made ones just don’t cut it. Making your own means you will always have the tongs you need – and you will never stop needing more. Learn to forge Flat, box, chain, wolf-jaw, pick-up, crucible, axe-head and scrolling tongs over two days of intensive forging, and gain the knowledge to build all the tongs you will ever need.

Two days (20Hrs) Any amount of prior forge experience is an asset.

 Forging Axes  June 2-3, 2018

Learn the power of tradition as you forge a superior full-size working axe. Whether you choose Hewing, Splitting, Felling or Throwing – students will leave with a complete heirloom tool of their own creation, and the knowledge to build more.

Two days (20hrs) Forging experience an asset but not required.

Blacksmithing Fundamentals     June 22-24, 2018

Build your own set of forge tools as you learn the traditional skills of the blacksmith. Shape hot metal into tools or works of art using fire, hammer and anvil. Learn the properties of metal, the proper use of tools and the techniques of working iron as you embark on your own journey. An intensive course, begins Friday evening at 5:00.

Two-and-a-half Days (25hrs). No experience required.
